Southeast Georgia Health System has an opportunity for a Security Officer to join our Safety and Security team!

Summary: Provides security for patients, team members, and visitors; protects Health System buildings, assets, and premises. All team members of Southeast Georgia Health System will promote a culture of safety, follow established policies, and adhere to all state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission requirements, and national patient safety standards.le.

The Security Officer performs the following essential responsibilities:

* Provides protection of life and property; actively, thoroughly, and unpredictably patrols the greater campus area on foot and by vehicle.
* Detects and reports violations of local, state, and federal law and violations of health system policy in a timely manner; actively monitors compliance and enforces parking control policy.
* Handles morgue access and morgue related activities, including required recordkeeping and some interaction with families/next of kin, funeral homes, and the coroner's office.
* Maintains lost and found items, valuables handling and storage, and issues/collects hospital keys to/from authorized persons.
* Responds to and actively participates in crisis intervention situations.
* Implements directives from the Public Safety Officer and Department Manager.
* Performs report writing and light clerical duties.
* Completes other duties as assigned.

The ideal Security Officer candidate will posses the following minimal qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* Valid Georgia Driver's license required.
* Previous security experience preferred.
* Good written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills mandatory.
