Cooperative Healthcare Services, Inc., a strategic affiliate of Southeast Georgia Health System, has an exciting opportunity for an LPN or Medical Support Assistant to join our team at Southeast Georgia Physician Associates - St. Simons Pediatrics!

The Ambulatory Care LPN:

> Provides patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluation
> Demonstrates professional growth and development
> Uses good judgment
> Utilizes patient care supplies/equipment in a fiscally responsible manner to include an active role in capturing patient charges on super bill
> Participates in SGHS�s compliance program
> Exhibits positive interpersonal skills.

The Medical Support Assistant:

> Assists physician/provider with patient examination procedures and support with exams as needed
> Collects and accurately documents patient information and provides patient education
> Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the supervision of the physician/provider

The Ambulatory Care LPN performs the following essential responsibilities:

> Effectively manages the care of assigned patients using knowledge, clinical skills, judgment and decision making skills for the specific area
> Delivers patient care utilizing guidelines of care and appropriate resources, including personnel, services, supplies and equipment
> Reviews, evaluates and takes appropriate action regarding results of diagnostic tests
> Administers medications according to SGHS policy
> Assists with patient flow by registering patients and assisting with other front desk and patient care duties
> Assists the RN in performing the nursing assessment to identify and prioritize physical, psychosocial and cultural needs in order to develop a plan of care
> Evaluates and reassesses nursing interventions based on interdisciplinary plan of care and makes revisions as appropriate
> Assists with the development and implementation of a patient/family education plan
> Ensures documentation meets compliance with regulatory standards

The Medical Support Assistant performs the following essential responsibilities:

> Effectively assists physicians/providers with patient examinations in an efficient and courteous manner
> Contributes to patient data base by collecting and accurately documenting information such as height, weight, allergies, vital signs, and patient education needs for review by the physician/provider
> Performs phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests as directed
> Provides for patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
> Assists with patient flow by registering patients and assisting with other front desk duties as needed
> Provides for patient safety through preventative measures
> Provides age appropriate care

The Ambulatory Care LPN should possess the following minimum qualifications:

> Current Georgia LPN license required
> Current American Heart Association CPR Certification (BLS) is required

The Medical Support Assistant should possess the following minimum qualifications:

> Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent required
> Demonstrated clinical experience required
> Prior clinical experience in an out-patient or physician office setting preferred
> Positive interpersonal communication skills
> Demonstrates a cooperative attitude by being tactful and sensitive while using sound judgment when relating to others
> Must demonstrate Phlebotomy, injection and basic lab skills
> Current American Heart Association CPR Certification (BLS) is required
